This is the new curriculum for the AS/A2 Mathematics course at BSK.

“Statistics is the grammar of science.” — Karl Pearson

S1 is the third module in A2 Maths. It assumes a high level of knowledge of the statistical content of IGCSE. The module includes variance, standard deviation, correlation, regression, discrete random variables and the normal distribution. S1 will be examined in May/June.

“If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is.” — John von Neumann

C4 is the second module of A2 Maths. It assumes a high level of knowledge of C3. Work from C2 on binomial series and trapezium rule is further developed in C4, which also includes detailed work on vectors, differentiation and integration techniques. C4 will be examined in May/June.

“Mathematics is one of the essential emanations of the human spirit, a thing to be valued in and for itself, like art or poetry.” — Oswald Veblen

C3 is the first module in A2 Mathematics. It follows on from the AS modules C1 and C2, and assumes a high level of knowledge of those two modules. It has a particular focus on functions, trigonometry and differentiation. C3 will be examined in January.
