Y11 Biology -
Ecology; Inheritance; Relaxing holiday; Mock Exams; Human Reproduction; and Co-ordination & Response. Oh, and
then your IGCSE exams. Enjoy.
Y10 Biology: diffusing, digesting, photosynthesising, circulating, transpiring, respiring and reproducing with plants. Exhausting!
Y9 Biology is all about...learning how to design your experiments properly; developing your key skills, such as graph drawing; analysing results from your experiments; improving your experiment; doing a research project; starting your IGCSE Biology course; and enjoying Biology!!

Atherosclerosis, statins, clot-busting drugs, cystic fibrosis, gene therapy and genetic screening. What more could you ask for!
Unit 4: The Natural Environment & Species Survival
Topic 5: Global warming; climate change; destruction of ecosytems - it's the end of the world as we know it. Or will we simply just evolve and adapt?
Topic 6: So, you want to be a forensic pathologist? Or work in a level 4 biohazard "space-suit" researching harmful micro-organisms?
Unit 5: Exercise, Energy Coordination
Topic 7: Respiration; Muscular contraction; Control of heart rate and ventilation - discovering the complex mechanisms that work together to allow us to move, and even exercise! And how do "performance-enhancing drugs" work?
Topic 8: How the brain and nervous system develop, adapt and even allow some of us to learn things; how our nervous system allows the brain to control movement and response to stimuli; what happens when the brain goes wrong; and how do plants cope without a brain?
An written paper taken as an alternative to a practical research project. This unit covers experimental design; statistical analysis; and interpretation of results.
